So that's it - the walk (+33% extra free*) is over.
There were far more people than I expected - In the region of 130.
We started off with an embarrassing and impractical warm up in the football stadium, followed by a brief morale boost from Dame Poppy. Then we got going.
The route was
On our return we were given our certificates and a voucher for a bacon roll and a coffee.
I'm told that we raised over £17,500 for the excellent Nightingale House Hospice. Slightly depressingly that is only enough to run it for three days.
* Due to an unfortunate inability to remove my by now rather worn heels and a slight planning fail I had to walk over a mile home in the full outfit. A few funny looks, but we had raised £17,500 for charity so I had nothing to be ashamed of :)
